Carson was brought to our shelter in March after her owner had moved away. She didn’t really know what to think of the shelter atmosphere. For several weeks, she spent most of her time hiding under the blankets in her kennel. She is a very loving cat, however, she does get a little stressed out in new situations. Knowing this, we are able to take things slowly to prevent any stress.

Carson is looking for a quiet home to call her own. She needs someone who understands that it may take her some time to come out of her shell. But once she does, you will find that she is a very playful and loving cat. You see, Carson still occasionally tips over her food and water bowl. And until the other day, we assumed she was trying to hide under her blanket again. That was until I was washing dishes and happened to hear a noise coming from her kennel. When I looked over, she was playing with her toy mouse. It went under her blanket and when she was trying to get it, her food bowl tipped! I was so excited because this was the first time that I have ever seen this shy girl play with a toy.

She is very timid around other animals but we are slowly transitioning her to our general population cat room. And we are happy to report that the transition is going very well! She is now able to be out when staff is at the shelter. She enjoys being able to stretch her legs and get some fresh air on the cat porch. Carson loves her big comfy dog beds and rumor has it, she enjoys catnip as a special treat.

If you are looking for a sweet and quiet cat that will still demand some cuddles, this is your girl! Stop by our shelter during visiting hours to fall in love!
