![]() Meet one of the newest additions to the Kewanee Shelter! This big boy is Baxter, a 5 year old male American Bully. He is considered blue in color, a beautiful mixture of grey and black. When his owner became ill he sadly knew he would be forced to give Baxter up. He purchased and raised raised Baxter from a pup and Baxter has grown up in an active household with four children and other dogs. His owner says he does not like squirrels, and we have discovered at the Shelter that Baxter does not like cats. He knows some basic commands like sit and shake and will walk on leash but is strong and does pull somewhat. He enjoyed having a fenced in yard where he was able to exercise and roam. His owner describes Baxter as friendly, seldom barks, is used to being kenneled, and is kind of on the lazy side. Baxter does become anxious in the Shelter kennel and he knows that cats are lurking around the corner so he will bark. If you are interested in meeting Baxter and filling out an application our visiting hours are 8-11:00 a.m. and 4-6:00 p.m. seven days a week. Our email address is [email protected] if you have questions.
